How to setup and play Free Dribbling warm-up
- Start with every player with their own soccer ball in a defined area.
- Instruct the players to dribble using the inside, outside, top, and sold of the foot within the area.
- Have players dribble with speed, change direction, and perform moves once they have warmed-up.
- Have the dribblers dribble at another player and try a move on that person. Since both players are moving they should keep their heads up and be aware of their surroundings.
Variations to Free Dribble:
- As the players are dribbling around, the coach holds a yellow, bule, and red pennie. As the coach holds up a pennie, the players must look up and should the color of pennie that the coach is holding up.
- As the players dribble around, the coach holds up a certain number of fingers and the players must shout out the number of fingers.
- As the players dribble around, the coach walks around and puts pressure on the dribblers.
- Give the players a particular move (such as the "V" or "pull behind") to perform while dribbling.
