Dribble Relay Game

This is a dribbling relay game to help teach players control and when dribbling around players in control.

Setup

1. Set up two or three courses for a relay race by setting up 5 to 10 sticks, flags, or cones about 2-5 yards apart. 
2. Split the team into even groups in line with each course.
3. Each team will need 1 ball.

Instructions

1. On the coaches command, each team will send the first player to dribble in and out of the sticks.
2. Then the player reaches the end, they must return to the front of the line by dribbling in and out of the sticks on the way back.
3. When the player reaches the front of the line, the next player in line will start.
4. Have each player go through the course 3 times.
5. The team that finishes first wins.

Coaching Points

1. Dribble with speed while weaving in-and-out of the cones.
2. Keep the ball close.
3. Keep the head up and always looking forward only glancing down at the ball every once in a while.
